Its approximately 60 kms from Dumaguete City which make take more than an hour to reach Siaton. Available means of transportation include Balanan vans and other vehicles.

Hike to Casaroro Falls

Casaroro Falls is a refreshing mountain waterfall dropping from the jungle of Mt. Talinis, the mountain that towers behind Dumaguete City. It is a sight to behold as a 20-meter column of white water heavily pours down from the mountain. The catch basin is a refreshing pool challenging swimmers with the powerful current coming from the falls.

From Manila, you can go to Dumaguete City where there are daily flights (Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific). It takes less than 30 minutes travel from Dumaguete City to Valencia. You can either hire a van or any private vehicle to go there or you can also use public conveyance. From the town of Valencia, you can hire a motorcycle called "habal-habal" and ask the driver to take you to the top of the mountain road to access the entrance of the falls. To witness this natural beauty, you will need to hike your way down through a steep but well-marked stairs.

Pagsanjan Falls

Pagsanjan Falls is one of the most popular waterfalls in the Philippines. It is locally known as ‘Magdapio Falls’. Its wonderful cascade is approximately 91 meters high. Behind the falls is a cave worth exploring.

The only passable route to this famed falls is through the Bumbungan River of Pagsanjan, Laguna. To reach the Falls, tourists shall ride the traditional Filipino boat or banca for a fee. These boats are manned by skilled boatmen or bangkeros who have mastered the awesome current of the river. Tourists may wander under the falls and explore the cave behind the falls while riding a bamboo raft. The Falls is also known to treat visitors as they get ‘massaged’ under the falls. The base of the falls is a natural pool great for swimming and diving. Shooting the rapids is another exciting treat, as tourists rapidly descent downstream passing approximately fourteen rapids.

Daranak Falls possesses a wide cascade dropping into a cool waterbed where visitors can enjoy swimming. Sparkling rivers and waterways bound this picturesque falls completing the nature-bliss scenery. This 14-m high waterfalls has been a popular site for TV and photo shoots. It is located at Brgy. Sampaloc, Tanay, Rizal. From Tanay Central Market, you can negotiate for a tricycle or jeepney ride to reach the main road going to Daranak. This park is actually managed by the municipal government and charges a minimal entrance fee (P20/pax only) and rental fee for the cottages (but overnight stay is not allowed). Parking areas are also available for private vehicles.

Approximately 10 meters tall, Batlag Falls cascades in a huge & uniquely-shaped rock formation. This charming spot is perfected by the tranquil, breezy forest backdrop and streams with crystal clear waters. Cottages and tables are also available within the vicinity. This enchanting falls is located at Tanay, Rizal, Philippines. It is actually the sister upstream of Daranak Falls, another popular falls in Tanay. It is around 2.5 km from the main highway. The entrance fee is at a minimal rate of P20 only.

Info Bits: Tamaraw Falls

Tamaraw falls is a 423-foot cool spot along the roadside of Brgy. Villaflor, Puerto Galera. It is a series of asymmetrical waterfalls leading to the grand falls that drops to a bubbly, cool waterbed. To get more pleasure from this refreshing attraction you may visit the picnic area and man-made rock pool at the base of the falls. The mini park charges a minimal entrance fee. From Puerto Galera or Calapan, you can reach Tamaraw falls in 2 hours via passenger jeepneys bound for Barangay Villaflor, before the municipality of San Teodoro.
